DSDN 142 - Creative Coding, Studio 1

Introduction to Creative Coding

Today in class we were introduced into creative coding. This class involves the use of computer programming to create digital designs and etc. We learned that there is no such thing as a "pen" but rather what we perceive a "pen" to look like by recognizing the fundamental elements or shapes and forms that it has, eg: a cylindrical basis, a cone tip, the ink we use to write with all make up the basic perception of a "pen". That nothing exists externally but rather in our minds. We experimented this knowledge through an exercise where we had to take out an object and write down steps to how we would draw this object then in groups of three we swapped our steps and had to follow the steps to draw each others objects through not knowing the object but only the steps to how to draw it.

OpenProcessing Image

I've decided to take three screen shots as it was a moving image.

I chose this image because I liked the way it flows and curves around the page.  It has a sort of serenity to the way it flows and disappears after a while. It almost puts you into a  hypnotic trance. I also like how it displays colour.
